Barrier Dunes is a gulf front, gated community located on the northernmost end of Cape San Blas adjacent to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. This neighborhood of townhouses is full of amenities making your next beach vacation one to remember. Located just across the neighborhood street from this 3 bedroom townhouse is the gulf front pool and clubhouse with beach access and outdoor shower. There is also a second pool in the neighborhood and tennis courts merely steps away. If you plan to bring your dog, the beach, the neighborhood and the property are all pet friendly with doggie stations located in several spots in Barrier Dunes. Not only is it pet friendly, it is also kid friendly too with a children’s playground also available.

Barrier Dunes 493 – 35 Flamingo Retreat, is a brightly decorated and furnished unit with a great gulf view from the top floor master suite. On the ground floor, under the house is covered parking and an enclosed outdoor shower. On the main floor living level is the open design of living room, kitchen, dining and half bath. The main floor also has a spacious deck with outdoor dining and gas grill. On the second floor is where you’ll find the two guest bedrooms and laundry closet. The top floor is the master suite with a gulf view deck and master bath.

We loved this unit. The furniture and beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We stay for 10 weeks, so those things are important to us. The location was great too, close to the beach & pool.

Easy access to both pools and beach. We had one issue but it was promptly resolved. If you have teens, there is not much to do in the area unless you make the 30 minute drive to town. Nearest grocery store is 30 min away. It was a much calmer spring break crowd, which we appreciated.

Flamingo Retreat is a clean, quiet and well maintained property. The property is very pet friendly. Almost everyone we saw outside had their dogs with them. This unit is conveniently located between the two pools and close to the beach as well. Highly recommend Flamingo Retreat if you are planning a visit to Cape San Blas.

Summer’s End

We loved this property and it’s proximity to the beach. The only reason we might not choose it again is alllll of the stairs! It’s hard on us older folks and our old dog.

The unit was lovely in quality and style of decor. The location within the complex and on the Cape was very good. Three en suite bedrooms suited our family's needs very well. Generally, we very much enjoyed our stay.

There also was not even one roll of paper towels in the condo. I realize you want people to bring all their own stuff, which is a little ridiculous as it is not a very relaxing vacation when you are worried about what groceries you will need all week. This is especially true for Cape San Blas where the store is farther away and it’s more challenging to find things.

Great House - great location to the beach. Dog owners on beach not really following rules and some actually dug holes and placed dog feces there instead of throwing away.

The property was very clean and very well-maintained. The property was so close to both pools and we were much closer to the beach than expected. It was such a short walk and very easy to access. We loved having the tennis courts and pickle ball courts right across the street. Everyone was very friendly and the kids rods their bikes to Cone Heads for ice cream everyday. We also loved being so close to the state park and enjoying the hiking trails in the park. We will definitely be back!
